God, may the words that I speak out loud be pleasing to You and to those around me. Give me the opportunity to speak life into the ears of those who are hurting. Give me the courage to speak truth to those around me who are straying. Give me the strength to wait for Your peace inside of me. But God, most of all give me the wisdom to know it's You that is prompting me and not my flesh. Amen.
Dear mama, Paul knew what it means to spend and be spent until you are bone dry. Paul was tortured, stoned, imprisoned and starved just so we could hold a Bible in our hands today. He gave the gift of self-sacrifice. If Paul endured those hardships to see another person flourish, we can do hard things, too. God, give me the wisdom to lay myself aside so that others may see you more clearly. God...spend me.
Recently I went to a seminar on prayer. I came away with two profound thoughts. #1...my prayer life is an absolute train wreck. #2...God knows the wreckage and He is still more than willing to move heaven and earth to hear His daughter's pleas for help. God is so good. What are you asking God for this week?
With each and every trial-we can choose to stay crushed or we can choose to surrender to the weight of His hands and be made into something new. "So I yield to you into your careful Hands-When I trust you, I don't need to understand. Make me Your vessel, make me an offering. Make me whatever You want me to be." Hillsong/ New Wine Simply Scripture
Undistracted time in the Bible creates an avenue of spiritual power that is unmatched in time or human history. The Word of God will regenerate, renew and refresh the weary war torn human soul! The Holy Spirit breathes life and power through it’s words straight into the hearts and minds of every believer. In these Holy pages, we come to understand that it is Jesus who defeats the ultimate enemy of the entire human race.
Are you tired of feeling like the enemy always wins? The Bible is living and breathing VICTORY and it is up to us to open it and put our armor on each and everyday. We don’t have to sit in despair when we have The Mighty Host of Angel armies by our side! Today is the day that we take back some enemy territory! Simply Scripture!
I used to think that God just tolerated me. Do you think that God doesn’t love you because your life looks like a train wreck? I used to think that when I arrived in heaven, He would look at me and say..."Ahem, you can come in-but you get the coat closet." One phrase in Scripture changed all that for me. Wanna know what that phrase is? IN CHRIST. He doesn't base His love for me on my merits (which are puny at best). He bases His love for me on what Jesus accomplished on the cross. That perspective is a game changer.
God likes privacy sometimes doesn't He? In this day and age when everything gets shouted from the mountaintops, it is kinda nice to know that God rewards quiet, personal moments with His kids.
I don't want to have a plastic, boring, safe type of faith. You know the one that just goes to church and pastes on a plastic smile?? I want my faith to FLOURISH! I want my faith to BE FOUNDATIONAL! Faith doesn't just happen in pretty places. Faith happens when the bottom falls out. God is asking us to grow in the grace and the knowledge of Jesus. Why? Because when truly grasp His abundant grace and understand who Jesus really is, than our faith is built, we find healing and He gets the glory. Amen!
Gullible should never define a Believer. It seems as though every wind of doctrine has swept through the pews and been breathed in as truth. We prefer culture over our Creator and false-flim-flam teaching over our Heavenly Father's Word. Beware. Today Beloved, be alert and test the spirits to make sure what you are breathing in is from God.
Our calling as wives, mama's, sisters and friends are to build homes that cultivate a love for God and others. What can we do today to build our homes instead of tear them down?
We carry our shame and guilt around as if it was never paid for by the blood of Jesus. Today let us run to the Only One who can make us pure and beautiful in His eyes! You are beautiful to Jesus even if your garment was stained in your past. You are the bride of Christ, and you sweet sister... are worthy of wearing white, because He says so! Simply Scripture
It is easy to have the mindset that God just tolerates us when we come to Him all bruised and battered from the world. Today I was reminded that He takes pleasure in us and we can come to Him with the dirtiest of wounds. Yes-salvation is what makes His kids beautiful to Him.
Am I the only one who gets their perspectives all jumbled up? I do a really good job keeping things in check--and then I go to the mall...or begin clicking away at Pinterest and then all of the sudden...yeah. Today Lord, help me to keep my eyes on the things that really matter. Simply Scripture
You have heard the slogan “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”. You’ve been to carnivals where someone passes out a freebie in hopes that you would take a minute to hear their sales pitch. Did you feel slightly irritated and maybe even a bit used by their cheap tactics? Grace is freely given, but it cost Jesus everything. Only our great God can make something that is free eternally priceless. Today, let us sit in awe of His lavish grace, so freely given and completely undeserved.
My false feelings of being abandon by God is directly related to how much I have abandoned time in His Word. True? God desires to reveal Himself to us through the Bible. Heavenly Father, let me open the sacred pages and find more of You.
We are called to do the hard thing because it is never easy to have self control and not strike back when the insults fly.
How great is the darkness of those who don't hear of the lovingkindness of God! How great is the darkness of those who do not trust in the arms of the Heavenly Father! How great is the darkness of those who don't walk after God! But, how great a shame if they don't see the light of Jesus in our lives.
This morning God, I am forever thankful that I can lift my soul to You--but Father, let me always lift others to You as well.
God, may I always seek your face before I bend someones else’s ear.
What other god has the power to heal a broken heart than our God-Jehovah Rapha?...The LORD Your Healer-The Great Physician. Lesser gods are so cheap and empty!
Being a peacemaker is more than just ignoring your enemy-it’s all about forgiveness and surrender.
Hey all you mama's out there!!! If you ever wondered why the Bible is so important...this verse is it! I am convinced that the next generation needs mama's who are warriors, praying and praising on their knees more than anything else. God is busy creating little people-and it is a beautiful thing!
Some may think you are a Jesus Freak and others may think you are crazy. That is ok, let them think that. Those voices that condemn you and say you are not worthy, are not from God. They never were. Those lying whispers are from your defeated enemy and they can not consume you if you are consumed with Christ.
Sometimes I look at this weary, worn torn world and shake my head in despair. Then God gently reminds me of who He is. So this morning, instead of shaking my head...I raise my hands. HE IS.
No matter what I face, I know my God is in control. Not because the circumstances have changed, but because the Bible says He loves me. God, my fear can’t stay around long when I believe Your ways are always good and kind toward me. Let my heart run to the foot of the cross where I can trade my fears for Your freedom. ~Amen
Cleaning up your mind is so much more than just replacing negative thoughts with positive ones...so,so,so much more. It's about training your mind to think like Christ-it's about trading your heart for His---and it's learning to abhor the things that break His heart by daily washing in Scripture.
Sometimes God doesn't take away our problems-He makes us stronger because of them. There is no one Higher-no one Greater-no one like our God. So, my hands are lifted high in surrender, because Jesus lives in me and His strength is enough.
Is anyone else sick and tired of gruesome headlines, mud slinging politics, hateful comments, violence, and the profuse stream of immoral sewage being shoveled at you? Me too. Jesus said that there is a better way. What if we seriously took this verse to heart and really practiced it? God-help me to unplug, unfollow, uninstall and get back to wholesome living.
The power of God's spoken word is unfathomable. Worlds and dominions came to be with just one word from the mouth of God. Each day I get the undeserved privilege of reading His Word. This morning, He speaks cleansing over His stumbling, faltering, sinful, beloved little girl-and one word from His mouth changes my world. CLEAN.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to CLEANSE us from ALL unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9
